Creating jewelry was never on my mind. In 2008 my father has actually suggested that i take silversmithing lessons, but at the time i was certain that it wasn't something i was interested in. I am a painter, but it never felt as fulfilling as an artistic career should feel. Painting was not 'the one' for me, nor i wanted to just teach Italian language(my bachelor's degree) for life.
In January of 2013 i started out of the blue to 'play' with simple jewelry making -just for fun. I started working on my desk in my very room and experimenting with resin, clay, plastic, upcycled and recycled materials, paints, and mixed media. Soon enough i wanted to try metalworking. A little flame was lit inside of me.
Day by day, i started working and reading and trying new things -and working (and reading again).
In about a year, from brass, copper, german silver and simpler techniques, i was confident enough to work with silver, gold and gemstones using advanced silversmithing techniques.
As my tool collection had started to grow -i'm a huge tool maniac- from my little desk i moved to the kitchen table and then to the garage. And since May 2014 i'm proudly working on my very own, fully equipped studio.
My mind never rests, i always create new designs and i always want to learn more, to try more challenging and intriguing techniques. My heart though is at ease because i have found a career path that gives me such pleasure and joy as only true love can!
